Paul Auster

Paul Auster was born in 1947 as the son of immigrated Austrian Jews in Newark, New Jersey. He studied English and Comparative Literature at the Columbia University, New York, then worked as a seaman on an oil tank.

He also lived in Paris for a few years and started teaching at the Columbia University when he was back in the United States. He now lives in Brooklyn and is married to the writer Siri Hustvedt with whom he has two children. He received several scholarships and is most renowned for works such as Moon Palace (1989), Man in the Dark (2008) or Sunset Park (2010).
